The novel coronavirus is one of the life-changing events in modern-day history. Starting today, many companies will make it easier to remotely work as long as you get your tasks done on time. If you are just starting to wonder about having a home office, right now is actually the best time to invest in the knowledge on how to decorate your home office.

It’s been over a year for me personally since I made a home office and it has made life and work so much easier.

You Will Save Time

I no longer have to be stuck in traffic for over an hour and waste time on commuting. On average it could take you an hour to two hours via the bus, train or even your own personal car to get to a work office. Just imagine what you could do with the extra 5-10 hours every week! You could learn new skills, enjoy more family time or have fun with your hobbies.

Besides the commute, you are also saving a lot of time getting “dressed” for work. On some days and occasions, you don’t even have to put your pants on. Like me…

You Will Save Money

I barely spend money on gas or other extra costs that are associated with working at a traditional office. If I get hungry I just walk a few steps and open my fridge and eat healthier foods rather than eating out. So basically, I am killing two birds with one stone!

Depending on the individual and location, how much money you are going to save will vary, but in most developed countries you will likely save between $100-$200 if you include transportation costs, food, etc. That is being very conservative though; you could even include money you spend on proper attire for the office and other expenses that are necessary for working at a traditional office. I am willing to bet you could save between $300-$500 per month.

You Are More Productive

You no longer have to deal with pesky co-workers who distract you from work or somewhat of a bad influence. In a way, work will be a lot fairer and meritocracy based as other people will not be able to take credit for what you do.

Without the external distractions, you will be able to focus and get things done!

You Have Total Freedom

With a home office, you will have the freedom to decorate not only your desk and work station but the whole room and house as you please. No longer will you have to feel awkward about your quirks and interests. You have the freedom to make your environment to your liking.

You Have Less Stress

Stress is cited as one of the leading causes of illnesses and deaths. You should not live to work, so enjoy your life to its fullest. While you do need to work to make a living, there are many ways you can go about work. One of which is to have control over your life circumstances and life choices. Ask your employer about working remotely, or take the chance at becoming an entrepreneur and your own boss.
